The G-loaded Journal is powered by open source software.

This page outlines the software that is utilized in order to bring the G-Loaded Journal to the web:

  • The server box is powered by CentOS, an Enterprise-class Linux distribution derived from sources of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which are freely provided to the public by Red Hat. From 2005 until 2009 the server was powered by Fedora, a Linux-based operating system that showcases the latest in free and open source software, built by people across the globe who work together as a community.
  • The content is made available to the public by httpd, the Apache HTTP Server Project, which is an effort to develop and maintain an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and Windows NT. The goal of this project is to provide a secure, efficient and extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP standards.
  • Content is published using the WordPress, a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability, written in PHP.
