Critical vulnerability in Adobe Reader
February 20th, 2009 by George Notaras
Users of Adobe Reader should be aware of a newly discovered critical vulnerability in the Reader which could potentially allow a third party to execute arbitrary code, according to this security advisory by Adobe. The vulnerability affects several versions of Adobe Reader (and Acrobat). Adobe states that updates addressing the issue will be available by March 11th (!!) for version 9. Updates for earlier versions of the affected software will follow. The advisory also indicates that exploits might already exist, so, take note and have a critical eye on what you download and open in the Reader.
